Thanksgiving & Ministry Update
November 24, 2007 by Mary Jo
Our Thanksgiving really was wonderful. Ben’s family (minus Lauren & Sam who had to stay back in Virginia) spent the holiday with us. What a blessing! I will confess that I’m somewhat tired, but I do enjoy so much having a lot of people around who I dearly love, and I have definitely grown to love the Murches! Each of them are so unique and precious in their own ways, and they add much happiness to my life when they’re around.
I especially love Ben so much. It’s so amazing to me that we’ve been courting for almost two years (next month!). We’ve both changed and grown so much, but time has flown by and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him, and seeing what our Heavenly Father has in store for us.
God really is so good to me. I have so much more than I could ever deserve. I deserve nothing but eternal torment in the lake of fire, and yet He has richly bestowed His abundant mercy on me and pardoned my endless sins, washing them away by the blood of Christ. Salvation alone is infinitely more than I deserve, yet He’s seen fit to give me godly, loving parents and a great family, a wonderful, godly man who holds my heart, an amazing church family, precious friends, and nice house in a nice neighborhood, and so much more! I think it’s great to set aside time each year to thank the Lord for His goodness to us, though we should remember it year-round.
Sadly, many Orlando Mamas were at Thanksgiving feasts with empty wombs, their babies’ lifeless bodies filling the sewers of our city. On Wednesday, my Dad and I went to Orlando Women’s Center to minister to those who are perishing, and were confronted with many hard-hearted people, perisistant in pressing on in their sin, unto the death of their own children. I was able to talk with one Mommy who was married with nine children, and didn’t think she could handle a tenth. By the end of our conversation, she had changed her mind and called her husband to come get her. Upon his arrival, he talked her back into ending the life of the fruit of their marriage. It’s amazing to me that anyone could kill a baby, much less a mother of 10! We shook the dust off of our feet and left after my wonderful Dad proclaimed the gospel.
Friday morning we headed back to stand up for the voiceless unborn, this time accompanied by Mom, Ben’s family, and Spring & her Mom. There were four Mommies who went in to kill their infants. One of the boyfriends talked to us briefly defended his heinous crime with the fact that we live in America, and have the “freedom of choice.” May God grant repentance to our nation! “Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” One couple did leave. They have our number, and will probably need help through the pregnancy.
I am looking forward to a restful afternoon. I’m planning to take a nap, do some reading, and prepare for the Sabbath tomorrow. We’re planning to go back on phase 1 this week since we’ve all been eating all kinds of goodies the last week or two. :o)

Why do you deserve eternal torment? Have you committed horrible sins though you are so young? Why do you think that you are such a dreadful sinner?
Madeleine,
I’m working on a post in response to your questions.
God bless,
Mary Jo
